●竹本英樹 Takemoto Hideki (写真家)

I want to tell.

The future when it is nostalgic.
The past when it is new.

It is an elementary particle of the consciousness that I shooting.
Unconscious memory.

However, the photograph is shared with your memory.

As for this photograph, it is conscious those days.

My photograph is elementary particles of the consciousness.

In Sapporo, Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto he showed his art works in public. He not only creates his drawings but also shows live drawing performance and even draws as he walks along a street. His expression derives from suburban landscapes and Pop Culture. They merge into one in him and create a reality unconceivable. It is the theme of his artistic expression. ●由良真一 Yura Shinichi (画家)

I was born in a small town in Hokkaido, Japan. Surrounding nature was my play fields. At the age of 21, I went to America and studied art. After graduation from California College of Arts & Crafts in 1982, I came back to my hometown. I concentrated on painting nature of Hokkaido. While I was an artist-in residence in Ateliehaus in Worpswede, Germany in 1988, I started cityscape paintings. In 1999 and 2000, I traveled to the United States, Great Britain and France. In 2007 I participated in Open Art exhibition in Rueil-Malmaison & Villepinte in France hosted by Seize Anges. In 2008 I participated in InterArt Greifswald, Germany. Last year’s CLOSE-UP OF JAPAN IN CHICAGO at Uptown Art Center was the first introduction of my art works to the people of Chicago. This year I am coming to Chicago again. I am thankful to Uptown Art Center and Obihiro Contemporary Art Executive Committee for letting me show the most recent painting of a new cityscape series.
